These are photos from McDaid elementary school. The school is being demolished to replace it with a more functional, newer building. My mother taught at this school for 20 years and I attended CCD there on Saturdays as a kid. This is my attempt to see the beauty in it's demolition.
When I saw this photo, I loved the look of the open sky through the window frame. Then I thought there should be an elegant flower sitting in the window, and what is more elegant than a beautiful white orchid? The clay colored flowerpot also compliments the broken bricks on the windowsill.
I enjoy doing abstract photo pieces very much.
Abstraction indicates a departure from reality in depiction of imagery in art. This departure from accurate representation can be only slight, or it can be partial, or it can be complete.
